My Goal

At last... finally i began to get some idea on what i wanna be...... Destination: Japan ya hahaha... ya really i wanted to go there....because i like the way the life there..... The politeness of the people....good virtue....always wanted to give their best.....and many more.... these somehow suits my taste....

Well to achieve my goal, for now i need to do well in my A'level , so as to get the Precious Monbukagakusho scholarship.... that's the legendary scholarship that is offered by the Japanese Education ministry.....

WHY I CHOOSE JAPAN?
well i've just remembered about my childhood times.... my parents always promised to allow me to buy 1 comic if i can get a top 10 rank in class during my primary school life. Well i always did, haha and yup guess what comic i like to buy? DORAEMON !!! after reading it, i always tell my parents about Hokkaido....Fuji mountain...and everything about Japan !!!and i want to visit them...

Soon in S'pore, in my sec 4 life, i began to reconnect with my dream, after a few years being manipulated by online games like maplestory... ragnarok.... and these caused a fatal damage to my studies.... The connection is to watch anime, read manga.... and since i'm considered as an outcast in the class - since my interest and way of thinking is different from the rest..... They prefer to see a group of people fighting over a small ball as if they do not have any "balls" at all eventhough they do hahaha XD (joking), so this is the best method for me..... Soon i found some people who share the same interest as me..... 2 precious friends- whom i can get along with..... however one of them went to poly, while the other is in CJC 1T15

In sec 4 also, during the June holiday, i Joined the Geography trip to KURIHARA, Japan(refer to June/July 2007 archive).... there for the 1st time in my life i went to japan and meet the Japanese with my own eyes. Eventhough some people in the group tries to disrupt the whole journey, the irritating rules that was set by the group leader, overall i find the trip is beneficial..... I'm also still in contact with one of my Japanese friends....

FAMILY PROBLEM
Thus this is how the feeling of wanting to go to japan is born.... I am now hiding this dream from my family( except my father, mother and sister) for that first they are going to bad-mouth about Japan to discourage me for sure.... and secondly for that the whole family relation trees are really shaky...always quarelled with each other... the last time was during the distribution of the inheritance...one aunt tries to monopolise the whole things and it triggered an uproar.... my family(father, mother& sister) who did not bother about the stupid inheritance also dragged into the matter.... Furthermore, i will always remember on how my aunt tries to distract me 3 days before the O'level - i wish i could just take a knife and cut her to pieces, but what's the point of doing that? If i were to kill her, wouldn't that her husband and children will be affected? so... the best choice is just to cut off the links....

I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO POINT IN TREASURING THE FAMILY TREE... I JUST WISH TO START A NEW.... TOGETHER WITH MY FATHER, MOTHER AND SISTER AND COMPLETELY CUT OFF THE WHOLE FAMILY TREES.......

Therefore i'll work hard towards achieving my goal...and i really really want it very badly.... GAMBATTE !!!

Judo

(PAE)J1 JUDO MEMBERS I've been away for three days since friday, reason was that i attended the JUDO camp... haha yeah, its my new CCA, JUDO and i'm glad that CJC offered that martial arts as a CCA... Not forgetting, the atmosphere there also very welcoming, everyone speaks only 1 language, that is english language..=) I've known a lot of people since i joined the JC, even though sadly some had to leave after the 'evil' JAE postings- I've lost my Judo partner. But even so, lots of freshmen are joining... Everyone's elated as we have just received our new GI's recently.

Day 1

reported to the Piazza at 4.30pm, then did some Physical training...after which, dinner time at 6.00pm...rest till 7.30pm while at the same time we checked in to our bunk(the classroom)....then full GI' training till around 10.30pm... haha the atmosphere was very high, as everyone was happy to wear the new GI's for the 1st time..... After training, showered and have water parade, whereby everyone have to finish their own water bottle that was filled to the brim... Met new friend at that time.... The coach told us that he's changing his career and a new one will be taking over us....felt disappointed and sad, because he's the best coach we ever had....Lights out at 11.15pm and everyone slept comfortably after the vigorous training... Even though sleeping in the classroom may not be that comfortable, but the spirit of togetherness somehow eliminated that negative point.

Day 2

my whole bunk woke up at 5.15am,then charged to the toilet before it's packed... then changed to our PE attire and reported to the Grand Stand at 6.00am . Ran around the track 4 rounds, then did shuttle run for 15 times, push up around 200 with 5 second intervals, sit up 200 times....then we're off for our breakfast at 7.30am... we felt that the Food was very delicious, could it because we're hungry at that time or was it the truth? haha who cares ! After breakfast, rest till 9.30am before we started our morning training... yup some of us went to continue sleeping.... then training comes....

"DO YOU PREFER SPEED OR POWER?"

That's the question that was directed at us..the time has come whereby we'll decide our fighting style......however, we're given a guidelines, the big ones are recommended to take POWER, while the smaller ones are recommended to take SPEED.

I chose POWER....and yup, taught by the seniors who came back to help out.....We learnt the first POWER throw, the Harai goshi...

The training lasted for the whole day, with lunch and dinner break....That time, a former friend came to drop us a visit again...she have transferred to ACJC, yet she still came back.... yup haha everyone seemed to be revitalised by her visit...haha finally i can did the practice that i couldn't do before... at night after we're dismissed, i sparred with a friend, she's quite good...haha we applied all of the techniques that were taught to us and learnt each others style while at the same time spotting the weaknesses...

Day 3

The whole JUDOkas WERE woken up by the shouting of someone at 3am in the morning...

" ONE TWO ONE TWO ONE TWO.... noW... JUMPING JACK, jUMPING JACK !!! ONE TWO ONE TWO ONE TWO, hahahahaha..... Push up Push up...nonoNO Run RUN RUN !!!.... THROW THE BALL...... "

Looks like the Rugby ppl had nothing to do at all, doing their physical training at 3 AM!!!!

but its obvious that they wanted to disturb the Judokas..... anyway we just ignored as we need to conserve the energy for the physical training at 6am.... and yup, by the time we woke up again at 5am, the rugby players were exhausted. After PT, that is the GST(Grand Stand Torture) and the exercises we did the day before, we have our breakfast and same thing, rest....training.... yup

RANDORI* sparred with the brown and black belt and owned all the times, but managed to break a few of their throws....haha.... training ended at around 4.30pm

After that returned home, with aches all over the body....

Judo is fun !!! it has its own unique-ness, aside from that JAPANESE Commands are used most of the time that roCKZ hehehehe..... its the friendship that each of us made there....

CJ-ians..... SAAAH !!!!!

ANIME & MANGA

Anime(アニメ) or Manga(漫画) is already not a strange word to every human on this earth. In fact, almost everyone know what they means. Otaku(おたく)means someone who’s really obsessed with anime/manga or both. There is no real definition of the word “Otaku” as It depends on each humans way of thinking; Some people called themselves “otaku” because they have watched and read lots of anime or manga, while some labeled themselves because they have watched and read a particular manga or anime. Anyway, even though we’ve different way of labeling ourselves, but we’re still the same…..

How it began
Anime & manga industries began in japan after the creators were inspired by the western animation; The Disney creation such as Mickey mouse, Snow white& 7 dwarves..Thus they began to borrow the ideas and started to improve it…. Which was not wrong at all, because they did not go against the copyright law… One of the best example is the western cartoon; transformers. The Japanese borrowed the ideas and put a lot of effort to improve on it and thus the anime; GUNDAM was created. For more information you can refer to Wikipedia.

The threat
Today, the Japanese animation have already reached to the audiences all around the world, be it in ASIA, EUROPE, AMERICA, AFRICA, AUSTRALIA….. and it is so successful that many of the anime series and even cosplay are conducted, like the “Start of the year 2008 Anime cosplay at Nanyang polytechnic in Singapore”. However there is a few "Asshole" who wanted to ‘steal’ it and claimed it that it is theirs. The few asshole apparently are from China and at the same time they are embarassing their country.
LOOK AT HOW THEY RUIN THE KAWAI KAWAI KAWAI MY BELOVED HARUHI... WITH THEIR FILTHY HANDS...

Fake haruhi(complete rip off)

Original Japanese haruhi

Look at the similarity between this two picture… the one below is the original Japanese anime, but the one above it is the “pathetic-copied” version. This is the typical characteristic of these people, only know how to rip off someone’s hardwork
The Effect

What will you think when you keep seeing this book in your daily life? Of course you will think that things exist as this way....just like how my beloved Haruhi is like.... FAT??? grr... i will not forgive the people who ruin my beloved Haruhi... of course, other anime otaku will also think the same way as me....
Piracy
Piracy is a hit in the world today. It is a one-sided benefiting, as the producer would face a lost, but on the other hand, the needy people can finally afford the goods…..its a topic whereby you cannot determine which one is good or bad. There are two kinds of piracy ; the Piracy is completely the same as the original, except for the selling price and the Piracy that modifies the content…. I supported the Piracy that is completely same as the original, even though it hurts the producer, but at least the people are not misguided by the wrong information… People who buys the pirated goods are usually those who cannot afford it but liked the goods very much….. and I believe that once these people are out of their cycle of poverty, they would buy the original ones….as it’s a basic characteristic of human to keep trying to buy something that they like…..

Anime & Manga Student
The students who like to watch the manga and anime are usually easily to be spotted in schools. They are usually alone…. Because their way of thinking is not suitable with their peers who favours the ‘hot’ stuffs in the Generation ME. However even they are alone, they’re not lonely…as the anime& manga will become their friends….. I can say that because I’m one of them, the one who’s always alone during my secondary school lives, wandering over my imagination- the world of anime…..however i did not shed my tears, as the anime& manga keeps me company… and I believe the others are also feeling this way….

ODEX
The Odex crackdown on Anime community in singapore last year was a holocaust… Even though I’m not involved in this downloading thingy as I had stopped 2 years ago, but I still do not support Odex’s action. This is because to us, students who liked to watch anime – anime are just like our best friends, because human friends just somehow cannot get along with us…. Taking away anime from us means taking our best friends from us…. And for that I believe that’s why the whole anime community rebel against odex…. I believe that the Anime community is not at fault at all, but odex do… because its their fault for firstly to start the crackdown by attacking Singnet, Starhub in order to get the victims for money without any warning at all…. Even if they were to issue warning, would the anime community agrees to it? I don’t think so, because if the warning are taken and we stopped downloading and watching anime online, odex could not compensate us…..

To put it simply because the anime series that they sold are in Extremely poor quality plus, they dubbed it….. in which dubbing the anime is the same as spoiling the anime, because we the anime-fans would prefer to watch it in Japanese language version, with or without ENGLISH SUBS. Why do we choose English? Its because it’s the language that is understood internationally, If other language is to be used It would be racist, as it indirectly tells the audience that “ hey you must learnt this language in order to enjoy this animation” for eg. Odex dubbed the anime in CHINESE with English subtitle….isn’t that it is not fair to the other races? The MALAYS, TAMILS, ANGMOHs ???? English subtitle is not the matter, but the audio does !!!!

The path i have chosen

The results of the O's had been released few days ago, and based on it, the path has been chosen, which is to stay in Singapore... yup, i didn't resent the fact that i did not leave for Australia as i get the feeling that western cultures totally does not suit me at all. There are a lot of visible reasons that you can see in my daily behaviour, that will explain my 'not-so-interested' attitude. In fact i am hoping it to happen like this, because after that it will be my favourite quoted sentences:"BRIDGES TO A BRAVE NEW WORLD "

Therefore, the path has been chosen and there is no more turning back ....

Lately there are a lot of thoughts going around my mind, a lot.... and i am going to list them down one by one in my next post , These will Not BECAUSE that i wanted to show off my General Paper skill, but its because i'm really bothered by those thoughts......

Finale night,,,,The epic battle !!!

The sound of the 4 houses echoed throughout the hall, which was in abyss.....

the top left hand corner, is the house of the house of the Japanese Yakuza(Mafia)...clad in black suits, wearing a head band that resembles the true Japanese Soldiers in World War...... with katana in their hands....YATTA ! YATTA YATTTA..............YATTA!

On the top right hand corner, is the house of the the ardent for soccer.....clad in green outfits, they Cheered as if Soccer match is at the climax..... OLE !!! OLE !!!! OLE !!!!

On the bottom right hand corner, is the house of the French, with the leader..... V for Vendetta! they were all clad in blue outfits.....Voila VICTOR !!! VOILA VICTOR !!!!! VOILA VICTOR!!!!

On the bottom left hand corner, is the house of the Cook(s), they were all clad in red outfits, carrying forks and spoons and....not forgetting pots and pans..... SHIOK!!! SHIOK !!! SHIOK !!!

On the stage, the gigantic picture of the 'big guy' appeared before the four houses, that says" i'm watching you !!!"

The Whole hall was turned into a battlefield for that night.... yelling and chanting which were to help the house to win the title of the best house of the year.....

The event was ended soon with a mass dance, which i loved the most....... "...SHAKE SHAKE IN...SHAKE SHAKE OUT !" eVERYBODY poured out looking worn out, but with a satisfaction inside everyone's heart....

My new school

gender matters
So that is it, a new beginning.... in a new school.... with a handful familiar faces of 04' students.... enjoyed the new school..... for that the orientation that is held is really beneficial to us, the students.... The games held really boosted our friendship in the group....girls or boys mixed together, without looking at the gender. Yes, yes it exist, " GENDER BARRIER" i could see it during my sec school lives.... the boys will never be able to hang around with the girls...except for some 'lucky' guys....Moreover, these 'lucky'guys will try to show to the girls that they're macho and kind, but the weak boys will be the sacrifice! either physically or verbally

English speaking community
ahh.... finally an english-speaking community...its like a wish come true, i have always wished for it....for that chinese-speaking community drives me nuts ! This is because i did not understand the language at all....therefore in a conversation, i would be the outcast. I often get irritated when some chinese(mandarin) speaking people tried to tease you by communicating with the locals in chinese!

Some Old chinese people would often tease us, the Chinese who don't know how to speak mandarin," Hey you're chinese how come you don't know how to speak mandarin?" The answer is simple... its Determination. If you wish to learn a language you must have a determination to do it.... Because it's useless to take a language tuition if you did not have a heart to learn it...

A new adventure
Yes, this is it.... the reason that i liked the most; a new adventure.....with new friends and a chance for me to broaden my knowledge and increasing my experience....especially all the people that i would meet will no longer be the same as sec school. The new people will be the group of people that are the geniuses of the country, they could either be locals or even Scholarship Students..... this is already proven through the orientation game; the top school students can do 13P13 without calculator.......

and many more reasons.....

Therefore;
I really hope that my O' level results to give the the best satisfaction in my life..... Pray pray pray....=)

Close to nature

hi, it has been ages since i last blogged haha.... well i have just reached home from.... a hill resort called "BRASTAGI" i am totally exhausted now for climbing and hiking the hill.... haha anyway its a great experience... There's a family reunion btw....all of us went there yesterday, early in the morning and there we interacted with each other...the more senior ones will just talk.....while the more junior ones will run around...

Yesterday, we went to play the "Paint ball", a special war game whereby you will wear the real-life war suit and hold a paint-rifle.... we challenged each other lol but of course the senior ones who teamed together 'bullied' the junior ones...haha of course the senior one includes; Me =)
Then, we went to have fun at the theme-park...
When night falls, we returned back to the villa that we rented and ate home-made steamboat.... some adult even brought wine, whisky and liquor... lolz.... and the best thing was that, the children were allowed to drink the wine....haha its so hillarious to see my younger cousins running around after drinking the wine and sticking their tongue out yelling" PHUEEEK !!"

THEN...bedtime...

TOday, early in the morning, we set off to the base of a hill and tried hiking it....once we reached the top of the hill, the beautiful scenery lies before our eyes..... one special thing that i still can't believe is that; we made our way from brastagi to LAKE TOBA ! we got to see lake toba from the other side.....the side that most tourists are unable to see....it was beautiful ......

Well that's all my experience.... i just realize someting; for that Indonesia actually have all the natural attraction that could attract a lot of tourists; but only the government and ministers that practises "corruptism" that ruins them all....

Really, "Brastagi Hill Resort" is still cool.... the trees can still be seen all over the place.... you can even see the cattle in their natural habitat; goats, horses, bulls, i can say it can still compete and probably knocked out Malaysia's Cameron Highland..... if the 'corruptive' government wakes up !

Ok thats all... oh ya.... wishing " MERRY CHRISTMAS" to those who celebrates it....

Attack of the Aunt

well as the title have said, i will be talking about my maternal aunt's attack that happened just today.... So far, this was the latest attack that she launched at my family.....Her attack is not physical related, but... using words...trying to damage your image....

Hmph, the attack is not a shocking news to me, for that formerly she launched attacks quite often...i have no idea why she did something so inhumane she was once an aunt whom i respected...but not now,as she had turned into an ugly demon.....

One of her most craziest attack was 3 Days before O'level.... She accused
me without any proof of corrupting her son's money.... she
claimed i extorted from her son? $ 400-500 per month... and why the
heck i want to use her money?as its against my parents
teaching...
Well, did you know what she dared to do at that time? her
mouth spitted out news that i extorted money from her son without
any proof... Amazingly, her words can reach throughout the whole relatives
in Indonesia, From Medan, to Jakarta.... from the cities to the villages....
just imagine how dangerous she was....
Fortunately that attack could be defended by my habit of making a
record book for every transaction..... you know; Black and white
recording is the strongest evidence to prove my
innocence.. ..And...therefore...Case Closed*( but i have to waste my time to scan and
send the evidence to every party that was involved....)

My O'S may also be affected, as i have not been revising for the past 3 days....

Today, she tried to make my parents quarell with each other...but luckily i managed to prevent it... Actually i have a plan of striking back but i refrain from doing it, because even if i were to blast her back, her mouth could not be silenced...and she will for sure strike back again, creating more problem....
and for that I was reminded of the CAUSE-EFFECT belief, She will surely got it back naturally....

The Hardest Decision

well hmm...yah this is about making a wise decision and most foreign Indonesian foreign students have to choose this.... well as you may be aware that Mr Gary Tan had once said, when we're in geography class in sec 3, "Most Indonesians after completing their secondary school education will leave singapore to go else where..."

Yah, this is almost the same for me..... now i have completed secondary schools and there are now two paths for me to choose..... to continue in Singapore or to Go to elsewhere...... i have been thinking about this few weeks before O's and after O's i have been going round singapore, trying to look for information.....

This is the reason why Singapore is referred as the "stop-by-point" for foreign students before venturing the blue seas.... and i'm sure those who take geography will understand this...

Hehe, i'm still not sure yet anyway.... Time's running out soon and the decision has to be made sooner.....

Monday, December 03, 2007

Hello it has been ages since the last time i blogged...and this is one of the changes in the town; blackout !!! once a while, the whole house will be swallowed by abyss....all electrical appliances can't be used at all...and yup there you go, the description of power-outage...

The people i have known have also changed....one of my primary school friend, Zevy, gave me a ride round the town...wow he could already drive !!! haha i still did not have confidence to drive a car, as i have not touched the steer and the road signs have also changed.....the traffic-polices became fiercer and their eyes were as sharp as the eyes of the eagles...

The whole town also have changed, the mayor has installed a countdown timer on most of the traffic lights, to tell the drivers on how much time left before the light switched from green to red...this caused some of the racing-car-maniacs to speed up, trying to beat the traffic...hence endangering the 2-wheel transportation users....

However, my favourite transportation is still a bicycle... i always cycle to either deliver something or retrieve something...and the best part is that the police won't catch the cyclist that upset the traffic rules, for eg.... Me !!! haha ..... i always like to go against the flow of the traffic, trying to get a shortcut..

hmm...looks like i'm able to appreciate manga better now, because when i went to the local bookstore, i started to hunt for manga...haha i also understand what the manga is all about.... anyway, i'm also working during this holiday....doing something i'm capable of....okk cya gd night....=)

Journey back home. . .

yo, reached indonesia yesterday around 4pm local time...Really tired, because i almost miss my ferry...you know i did not know that they were using the card-tap function for every ferry.... i boarded the ferry 10 minutes before departure time as i was too carried away wandering around VIVO CITY.

Of course when i tapped my card the screen wrote: "Please check with the operator" Wow, at that time i was panicking, because if i were to miss this ferry, i would as well miss my flight....

Fortunately for me, the security uncle contacted the other staff at the pier, and the response that was received was" LET HIM IN.." yah, and what will you expect for someone ,who have delayed the other passengers to do? Of course i ran like a crazy horse....cutting past aunty who was dragging her luggage gingerly.... and when i boarded the ferry, it was fully packed, with some people glaring at me with an unwelcoming atmosphere....expected...since i was the last passenger...

The Other part of the trip was as usual, reached batam and proceeded to the airport to catch the plane...and reached home....

yup, haha i could not believe it...there is a change in the city, a noticeable change... i shall talk about it more in the next post....

Saturday, November 24, 2007

Journey home

yah, today i'm going back already.... it has been around 10 months since the last time i went back.... haha Yup for sure, i'm not going to take a direct flight - it will be really troublesome you know,as the Silk Air will surely take me as "YOUNG PASSENGER TRAVELLING ALONE"

So, i will go home via Batam... yah, ok bye bye......

Anime Version

GUNDAM MEISTERS

SETO GROUP !

Prom night

Hahahaha... Prom's Over yesterday and yup, its kinda a fine night, filled with people with their formal suits......The guys wore suits that range from less business like to Business formal suits.... while the Girls, wore dresses that ranged from usual to H.O.T haha anyway its a good experience after all....

The Buffet was satisfactory, the dance haha, Those in the same table as me did not join in, because....we did not have any female partner* haha you know, its kinda horrifying to see guy dance with another guy.... but seriously the dance looked more like a discotheque ! and we're underage lolz.....

Then lucky draw, looks like 404 students kinda lucky.... most of us struck the lucky draw.... i did not know what others got, but I got a $10 voucher for salon in People's park centre...lolz i prefer barber than a salon ! so i think the voucher is of no use to me....

The game shows are funny, by asking people " who wear black socks" " who's carrying a non-camera phone" "wear gold earing..." Then came the part whereby they were asking for volunteers of the audience to go up the stage to deliver a song....and i silently fled to the toilet...haha true to my instict, my table-mates wanted to sabotage me....

I have some pics and video that i had taken:

i personally like this one, because the three of us ( me, danial and teck ann ) are the anime-otaku(s) [a term used for those die-hard anime fans]

My birthday
Well sometimes there's a day that's really important to you and that's your birthday....you really treasure it a lot.. and yup, to me.... i did not celebrate it... i'll just take it as a reminder that i'm getting older, hoping to improve myself...

THEREFORE:
I would like to personally thank my friends who had wished me happy birthday! it was really an honour to receive such a warm wishing.... i'm really sorry that i could not mention your name here, else those unnecessary gossips will arise..... but i really appreaciate your kindness...so once again Thank you very much !
My days in Japan:

Yosh...japan trip is over.... and to keep thinking about it is not a way too, because there's still tommorow... who knows i might get a chance to visit Japan again.....

Through this trip: i have learnt a lot about Japan and to develop an interest in Japanese culture, language and people....and everything about JAPAN !!!
I am inspired by the Japanese.... their behaviour are remarkable... their politeness are idolized by me,for that even my level of 'politeness' still could not match with theirs! Their Spirit really heats me up! they are really loyal to their country...

I really have a good image of the Japanese and of course admired them..To tell you the truth, i have been having special thought of Japanese since i was a little boy...through the Doraemon Comics that i had read Daily

My greatest dream is....... to be able to work in Japan.....and of course...to learn JAPANESE Language, Culture,and....not just that, everything about Japan !!!

I'll surely achieve my dream, Just wait for me, JAPAN!!!

Day 7 (finale)
QWSS Japan Trip June 2007

woke up....6am...haha didn't feel any aching at all, because i slept in Japanese FUTON* haha....
we're racing against time.... we were supposed to meet at the City Hall at 7am sharp! in order for us to catch our flight.....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
sayonara Minna~~~~

Shirotori family surely really hardworking, the moment we woke up, Mrs Shirotori and her mother-in-law quickly prepared breakfast and asked us to choose between rice and bread.... haha curious about Japanese bread, we chose bread..... but guess what, their bread was really really really thick.... haha... not only that, they were also able to make soup and yup, they served us with pure Japanese green tea....wah....

After our meal, we gathered our stuffs and thank them for taking care of us....its kinda sad.... because we had just met and now its time for us to bid goodbye already...Yup, All of us left in two vehicles.... when we reached the city hall, there was no one, except the tv-crew... haha being the early bird, we were interviewed...haha, i was speechless when the camera was shooting at me...

Soon, the others came and yup it began to get noisy... yup all of us took photos and we're going home man!sooo sad.... as the bus steered away and gradually accelerating, we could only see the host families waving at us....

The journey home wasn't really fun at all, for that we had to leave our new friends ....
Reached airport, 2 hours earlier and we got time to do some shopping.... Couldn't buy much, for that my baggage is already filled with clothes....perhaps its my fault to bring such a small luggage...

Then, someone begged me to change seat with her...haha no choice, since she asked so politely that i just agreed..... actually i had to sit between danial and tingwei, but the girl asked me to switch with her...and haha at least with that, i make new friends: got to know two friends from 204: MEI LING & RaJveen

Soon the plane took off and fly fly fly fly fly away~~~~~~~~
reached S'pore at about 11pm and yup, queue up for taxi...

DAY 6
QWSS JAPAN TRIP JUNE 2007

Yup, today was a really special day for us,as we were going to stay with our designated host families… Well actually not many of us wanted it, after the first day whereby we met with our respective host families, we were terrified…. Not because they were scary or anything else, but the fact that only a handful of them were able to speak English and we’ll have difficulties communicating with them.
After Onsen-ing for the last time, we went to the restaurant to eat our last meal in that hotel…*sob
After that, we went back to our room to pack up everything… well it seemed just yesterday that we had just arrived in the hotel and now we’re already leaving….time seemed to have no hold in Japan…

When we reached there, we directly went to our host family and yup…everyone was separated….. Tingwei and I headed towards our host family, Shirotori families….who led us to his vehicle….quite a big car…..inside the car its no joke! GPS system!!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Well first, Kyotaro and his father,Mr Shirotori drove us to their home, whereby there we met his wife, daughter, 2nd son and his mother…outside their house, they had a dog that could able to listen to commands, because when we first reached, it’s a common sense for a dog to bark….but when Kyotaro spoke in Japanese to the dog, the dog kindly returned to its dog house……flipping through the Japanese dictionary, we tried to communicate with Shirotori families…. First they led us to their 2nd living room….wow their house was very big, it took quite a long time just to get from the main door to the 2nd living room…
There, we placed our bags and headed back to the 1st living room…we talked with each other by using a handphone translation….it was quite fortunate for us that they thought of such thing…..our hobby ranged from hobby….to school work..and then to my favourite topic: ANIME&MANGA….. Lolz Tingwei was puzzled when they talked about this topic, but I, being a anime-lovers was enjoying a talk with them…. GUNDAM….DETECTIVE CONAN….DORAEMON…ETC…

Soon, they asked us to get into the car as they wanted to take us out for lunch….and we did…. When the car was going out, they suddenly lowered their side windows and told us: “ OJISAN” , which means their grandfather…. He’s a nice man….and looked healthy despite I thought that he was already quite old….

Along the way, Mrs Shirotori asked me what song did I listen to and I told her Japanese songs…. She smiled and asked me which artist I favoured…. I told her ZARD and she raised her eyebrows…. I did not know why until I returned to Singapore and found out that the artist had just passed away from CANCER…. Mrs Shirotori then suggested to me,” AYUMI HAMASAKI?” and I nodded….
After one hour on the road, we stopped by a convenience store and they asked us to take what I wanted and they would pay for us….Being brought up with Manners, I kept declining their offer and thank them for their kindness….. But later the funny part was that when they showed me their translated text and it read” PLEASE DO NOT DECLINE” lolz…. Funnay hahahahhahahaha but still in the end I still did not want to take, but TINGWEI took a Caffeine water…then our Journey continued….
After another one hour, they asked us to choose whether we wanted to eat burger or beef rice…. Of course our answer were anything…but to the Japanese, Anything is not an answer….
Then we chose BEEF RICE…..and guess where we were brought to? YOSHINOYA! At first we thought it would be the same as in Singapore…. But there was something different when we entered the YOSHINOYA outlet in Japan…. The seat were all counter seat and the cashier would deliver the food to the customers…. Furthermore, they did not sell any kind of drinks at all and provided us with cold plain water !!!!! sooo nice, unlike the YOSHINOYA IN SINGAPORE, BOOOO!

Their Beef rice was also quite unique …. Their sizes were: small, medium, large,EXTRA LARGE….. lolz…
After a fruitful lunch, we headed to Sahara, a ceramic shopping centre …There,Shirotori-san wanted to buy for us necklace, which was made up by choosing the beads that we wanted…similar to those in Singapore and was usually for girls….. so we declined their offer…. But now in singapore, I regretted my decision, because I found out from JAPAN HOUR that the purpose of beads in JAPAN is not the same as in singapore, because each of the beads represent your characteristics…and it could even act as a TALISMAN!

us with the Japanese..aww doesn't they look kawaii*(cute)?

After that, we went to the most attractive sites; THE GOLDEN TEMPLE…. Which requires us to hike up the slopes…quite tiring, but It was a fruitful experience for us to watch the GOLDEN TEMPLE….everything was made of gold! Sadly we were forbidden to take photos and the monks were on guard…. Well, all the statues were the same as in Buddhist temple…haha its just that the explaination was written in JAPANESE….we prayed and threw in some coins…..

Outside the temple, we tried the Japanese culture of fortune telling…. First we put in 100yen into the box and draw out a piece of paper…. Then, KYOTARO explained to me what it means….

My symbol was a broom….. then Kyotaro translated for me:
HEALTH – OK
STUDIES-OK
LOVE- NOT TIME YET >.<

their family...haha i wonder why Yajiro(extreme right), Kyotaro's brother acted that way...

Later, shirotori asked us whether we wanted to play bowling…but we declined for that we felt very uncomfortable for them to keep treating us…..as they had spent a huge amount of money therefore, we headed back to their house…
Inside the house, they asked us to get into the car to shower and we were puzzled….shower in a car?? Haha actually we were brought to his 2nd house, just to shower…..but I could roughly guessed that JAPANESE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT FOREIGNER WILL ALWAYS TAKE A BATH, NOT A SHOWER….
After showering, we took a walk around the neighbourhood and yup, he brought us to a Japanese Shinto shrine…. We prayed and threw in some coins…Then, we returned back…..quite nice, Mrs shirotori and her mother-in-law cooked delicious food…but the interesting fact was that During their house meal, each members will have their own CHOPSTICKS,SPOONS, PLATES…. Because we were given wooden disposable chopsticks… Another treat comes again, when OJISAN returned home with 2 boxes of SUSHI.....WOW NYAM~NYAM…… Sushi ~~~ we could not finish it……

at the same time, we were watching JAPANESE Variety Show on the television…. Lolz it was so funny, its about:

About a blackman who brought his monkey and tried to experience Japanese culture… the scene was set when he visited a ‘TAKOYAKI’(Octopus ball) shop and when he was served with the ‘takoyaki’,he used his hand to grabbed it and put it into his mouth…guess what, in the end, he was struggling and fanning himself , as the ‘takoyaki’ was too hot !Next, he handed the plate of the’takoyaki’ to his monkey and guess what, the monkey could not resist the heat that caused it to throw the ‘takoyaki’ away, in a funny manner! Haha

So, after a delicious food, we took some photos and yup, headed back to the 2nd living room…. There, Shirotori-san showed us three VCDs that he had just rented and asked us what we wanted to watch the choices were; TROY, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3, The Great Chase
Well actually I wanted to choose Mission Impossible 3, but Tingwei just kept bugging, saying that he had watched Troy and Mission Impossible 3, ok lor, so I just relent to him…. To watch The Great Chase, since he was a car-racing-maniac…..
Guess what, we could not understand the movie at all,Because it’s a German Movie that had a Japanese language as the subtitle…. No!!!! haha so in the end, we just stare at the moving picture….But unfortunately, I got a sore eyes after that….. Not because watching the movie for too long, but to see something that I was not supposed to see yet….. You know, the movie scene that suddenly show a Caucasian Woman’S Boob !!! Sianz lar, I immediately covered my eyes….couldn’t believe what I had just seen !!!
Halfway during the show, Ojisan came in and brought us cake!!! Wow so generous of them… and he asked us to write some kind of message for the family….and they will write some for us too…. (exchanging messages) yup, its very nice, Japanese surely really treasure their guests!
That night, I could just doze off easily, as it was the only moment I got to sleep in Futon*(Japanese mattress) Recorded down some information in diary and…. Yup ZZZ..zzzz…ZZZZ….zzzzz OYASUMI!

Day 5
QWSS JAPAN TRIP JUNE 2007

Woke up, earlier than usual because today was a special day for us…. The mayor had kindly invited us to his office…. So we’re all excited….. at 8am, we boarded the bus and left for the mayor’s office…. The mayor’s a kind guy, he welcomed us into his office….. when we were heading to his office, we walked pass the civil service workers….. yah, we had to greet them ‘ohayo gozaimasu’(good morning) and there were lots of them that we had to keep bowing for every step we took…..

Then, the mayor brought us to his meeting room , together with his assistant… there we were given origami paper, looks expensive !!!! and they taught us to fold a ‘shiratori’ (swan) yup , a ver y fruitful experience…..

after that, we bid goodbye before leaving for UGUISUZAWA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL…..

For our entertainment, the mayor had passed a CD to our tour guide, mr Ronnie tan… and it contained the news report on our arrival in Kurihara, featuring the PAPER MAKING SCENE & WHEN WE WERE AT THE CHRYSANTHEMUMS PLANTATION.

us, on the news

Soon, we reached the high school and received a warm welcome !!! yup, only the principal greeted us as the rest of the school were still having their lessons….. after taking off our shoes and wearing the sandals provided, we were led into a waiting room, where we rested for a while before going on a tour around the school…
Guess what, we were introduced to the school’s information and surprisingly the school only have a population of 70 students…. Wow, compared to Queensway’s 1400 students 200 TIMES MORE !!!!!! I could say their teaching style were similar to Queensway…btw at that time, they were learning mathematics, home economics and history….. and there were only 1 sec 1, sec2 and sec 3 classes….
After that, we returned to the waiting room whereby we were served ice-cream….mmmm yummy, especially the ice-cream was branded …. I couldn’t recall the name, but I ever seen it in s’pore, which costed $14 bucks for 1 tub…..

Then, we went to their hall to practice our performance… their hall was far more bigger that queensway’s ….. yup, here we go, everyone except me went to the toilet to change to their designated ethical costumes, while me…. Haha, went backstage to become the DJ !, well, I was kicked out from malay dance as I danced as stiff as a rawhide….hehe sabotaged DANIAL instead…. So here we goes, after the formal opening speech by a student representatives from both party, the Japanese showed us their skills: from basketball, to soft tennis, and softball … all of them were magnificent, all of them took turns to ‘serve’ so quickly and professionally, just like machine guns….. But the part I like the most was the softball…. Their skills were unmatchable…… because on several occasion, when you expect them to miss the ball, they could still able to catch…WOW!

Soon its Queensway’s turn, after an opening speech by ARIYANI, I hit the play button , sit back and watch their performances, however view was only of their butt ! =D
After the dance, we were exchanging gifts, ahh…. Most of us made mistakes for not bringing our ‘prepared’ presents and yet we still dared to argue with Mr Tan who scolded us… but soon after we realize our mistakes, we apologized to him, except one student who did accept that he is wrong….
After that, we were given a treat by the principal, their school’s lunch… JAPANESE SCHOOL STYLE BENTO! The looks may be quite unattractive, but the uninteresting look didn’t mean that the food is insipid! It was…. OISHI~~(*delicious) . Well some information, in Japan, their school did not have such thing called” canteen” They have an aunty who lived in the school, who will plan and cook their menus everyday and their parents will just pay monthly fee….

After a delicious meal, we were separated into groups and went around to enjoy their culture…. Actually the Japanese had planned for us to rotate around the activities, but due to time constraint, we were not able to enjoy all of them. For me, I’d only felt their local deer dance, which looked the same as Singapore’s liondance, its just that we have to put a deer-look-alike hat that was sooooo heavy. Furthermore, there’s a veil that covers your face, so you would not feel hot and in addition, there was a huge drum tied on your belly…. You had to dance while beating the drum…. Quite difficult but haha enjoyable… too bad I did not bring my camera there…
Afterwards we went to the ‘community centre’ to watch the other groups learning tea ceremony… not bad, we were served with Authentic JAPANESE GREEN TEA… and a candy-like stuff… Well I could roughly guess the procedure, since I was interested in JAPAN when I was young and I’d read too much DORAEMON, which roughly teach you about JAPANESE CULTURE.

Tea drinking procedure:
EAT THE CANDY first, then hold the bowl in your hand…. Turn the bowl three times(believed to be able to make the tea delicious) and drink it…. Afterwards, use your fingers to wipe the spot on the bowl that come into contact with your mouth…..
Soon, we headed back to the school and yah, it’s a sayonara already and Japanese are really kind people…. When we went back to gather our things, and walking out of the school, we could see all of them lining up to shake hands with you and there were….. 70+++ hands !!!

some of the blue 'YAKUZA' lolz

So yup, feeling grateful to them we shook hands , boarded the bus and we left….. Along the way, Mr Ronnie Tan told us that He was impressed with our performance and decided to reward us; KARAOKE ON THE HOUSE ! haha at first we thought it was merely a joke, but when we reached the hotel dining room…. Wow, it was really there…. The karaoke machine, the same machine that was used by the other patrons in the next dining room…. At first everyone was shy….. then we began to volunteer each other…. First in the row, ARIYANI singing DANCING QUEEN ~ woohooo bravo !
Next, Ms Annie Tan , singing an English song…. Quite an old song…. yay!!!!Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
ms annie tan singing

Then Hiromi take up the mike and delivered us a Japanese song ~~~ wooo everyone was enchanted by that

Hiromi singing

Then its my turn, but 1st song was a DUET , ARIYANI and me, singing YESTERDAY ONCE MORE ….. just an applause…..
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
DUET!

The Duet was not really a duet, because I joined in when she was singing halfway, so it was not counted and the audience requested me to sing them another song….. I trembled, because I rarely listen to English songs. I only listen to JAPANESE songs, but the song that I wanted to sing was not there, so I flipped through the song book and saw a ‘light’ , the song “ UPTOWN GIRL “ choo looking….. I smiled and take the stage….

but before that, Hiromi DUET with Natasha singing a song.... i kinda forgotten hehe~~~

When I sing, everyone had a good laugh…. Yah I know, the lively song was changed into a monotone, classical olden songs…..

Uptown girl! even mr ronnie tan was laughing all the way

~my singing causes the audience to be like this~ horrible isn't it?

After singing, haha quite glad, received applause and some even threw 5 yen coins at me muhahahahaha luckily not tomato!
Then Mr Gary Tan also did not want to lose, he braised himself up and deliver his best song : STAYING ALIVE, everyone enjoyed the song haha ….that we even did a style…. Pointing sidewards while yelling STAYING ALIVE !!!

Well after that, we had our presentation and yup, ONSEN~~~~~ THEN not time to sleep yet !

Mr ronnie tan has prepared a karaoke lounge for us and wooo hoo.... we sang and sang and sang till the midnight oil burns out!
